The problem with a connection that isn't always stable
A store doesn't always have a perfectly reliable internet connection: a temporary drop, a router restarting, a network under load at peak hours. A signage system fully dependent on real-time cloud access stops or goes black in those moments, often at the worst possible time.
How NourSign's local cache works
Content you publish syncs to the screen, then stays cached locally. If the internet connection drops, the screen keeps showing the last synced content instead of stopping or going black. As soon as the connection returns, syncing resumes automatically, with no action needed from you.
What this means in practice
In practice:
- A drop lasting minutes to hours doesn't interrupt the display.
- You don't have to do anything on site: syncing resumes automatically.
- Price changes made during the drop publish as soon as the network returns.
What this doesn't replace
The local cache keeps the screen active with the last known content; it doesn't let you publish a new change while the connection is down. An internet connection is still needed to update your prices and promotions the moment you decide to.
